How to Use Beard Butter (Step-by-Step)
How to use beard butter, step by step
Use beard butter on a clean, towel-dried beard: warm a fingertip-sized amount between your palms until it melts, massage it into the skin under your beard first, then work it out to the ends and comb through. A little goes a long way, and it works best as the conditioning step before beard oil. We do it at Noble a bit differently. Since our butter is wax free it is meant to go down to the skin. That means it is intended to be used before oil in our beardcare system. Butter to nourish, Oil to seal and lock in moisture.
1. Start clean and slightly damp
Apply after a shower or a beard wash, once your beard is towel-dried. Slightly damp hair helps the butter spread evenly.
2. Scoop a little
A fingertip-sized amount is right for most beards, up to a nickel-sized amount for longer beards. Too much is the most common mistake; you can always add more.
3. Melt and work it into the skin first
Rub it between your palms for 5 to 10 seconds until it melts, then massage it into the skin beneath your beard. That's where dryness and itch start, so the skin comes first, then run it out to the tips.
4. Shape, then seal
Comb or brush through to distribute and define. For all-day conditioning and scent, finish with a few drops of beard oil. Butter conditions; oil seals it in.
New to it? The Noble Beard Butter is wax-free and skin-first, so it absorbs clean with no greasy residue.
